The Romanian Court of Accounts, celebrating its 160th anniversary, hosted several prestigious international events in Bucharest from 16-19 September 2024. The State Audit Office of Hungary (SAO) was represented by its Vice-President, Dr Monika Karas.
A highlight of the series of events was the high-level event and conference at which the SAI of Romania celebrated the 160th anniversary of its establishment with the participants. The event was attended by Klaus Iohannis, President of Romania and Marcel Ciolacu, Prime Minister of Romania, while international organisations and institutions were represented among others by Mr. Matanyahu Englman, President of the European Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (EUROSAI) and President of the SAI of Israel, and Mr. Gene Dodaro, President of the Government Accountability Office of the USA. On behalf of SAO, Vice-President Monika Karas attended the conference.
The international events also included meetings of the Policy, Finance and Administration Committee of the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) and the INTOSAI-Donor Steering Committee.
The State Audit Office of Hungary and the Romanian Court of Accounts are in active working contact within the INTOSAI, EUROSAI and EU Contact Committee networks.
