On 26 November 2024, Dr. László Windisch, President of the State Audit Office of Hungary welcomed Mehriddin Abdullayev, First Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and his delegation at his Office. In the framework of the bilateral meeting, the Hungarian and Uzbek supreme audit institutions concluded a Memorandum of Understanding document on sharing methodological and technological knowledge to support the development of public auditing.
During the professional consultation, the audit experts presented the renewal processes, capacity building initiatives and innovations introduced in their institutions. During the meeting, participants exchanged good practices on the efficient and expedient audit of budgetary management, new methods of public finance audits and the challenges of applying international methodologies at national level. The parties agreed that new types of data- and risk analysis technologies, furthermore the digitalisation of processes, can increase the effectiveness of audit work. The parties also agreed to support each other professionally and to encourage stimulating knowledge sharing between their SAIs.
