Following the invitation of the Acting President of the Chamber of Accounts of Uzbekistan (COA), Mr. Mehriddin Abdullaev, a delegation of the State Audit Office of Hungary (SAO), led by President Dr. László Windisch, paid a professional visit to Uzbekistan.
The consultation took place as a continuation of the cooperation launched by the Agreement of Cooperation signed by the two supreme audit institutions in November 2024.
During the visit, the President of the SAO held talks with Ms. Tanzila Narbaeva, Chairperson of the Senate, and with Mr. Nurdinjon Ismailov, Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Parliament of Uzbekistan.
The focus of the current visit was on digitalisation, budget monitoring, remote audit possibilities and practices for the safe use of artificial intelligence. For this purpose, the Hungarian delegation visited the Remote Audit Centre of the COA in Tashkent, where it also gained an insight into ongoing Uzbek IT development projects. Within the framework of the professional discussions, the experts of the delegations started to share their experience and good practices in the designated areas. The two Presidents also agreed on ways to share knowledge in a mutually beneficial and efficient way, therefore online consultations will be organised in the future between the relevant departments, auditors and experts of the SAO and COA.
